Overall, an excellent experience - and we strongly recommend booking a post-race balloon ride (well in advance).
Thank you for such a quick response. I appreciate the great customer service you always provide.
This is my third trip with Marathon Tours and each one has been better than the next and the first one was awesome! Thank you so much for your personal touch and your dedication to making these trips fabulous!! I especially appreciate your effort in acknowledging the World Marathon Majors Finishers. It was a special race for me in that regards and the effort you put forth to celebrate with me and my family was very much appreciated. Marathon Tours rocks!! Nicole is awesome and I believe Jacqui has talked me into the Maasai marathon next summer - 7 continents here I come! Great company, great people!
The support before and during the Berlin trip, from the greeting in the hotel. The cocktail hour on the Thursday, the bus tour and the greeting at the hotel after the marathon with beer, Gatorade and bath salts were great. The post marathon social event was great too.
This was my first experience with Marathon Tours & Travel. My wife and I hesitated to sign up for this based on the expense, relative to the cost of getting a hotel and lining up some wine tours ourselves (we were fortunate to have successfully registered for the race). But the "extras" provided that wouldn't come from our do-it-yourself trip were immeasurable -- priceless, as the commercial says. I look forward to our next trip with Marathon Tours & Travel. The benefits of this trip are too long to list but the big ones were: * The virtual elimination of the countless hassles and stresses normally associated with traveling, with planning a trip and with participating in a race (where's the pre-race bathroom?) * Meeting a great group of interesting people, all with a good balance of interest in running and having a good time. * Each aspect of the agenda was well thought out and each venue was perfect to provide a wonderful experience in a way no do-it-yourselfer could come close to replicating. * Outstanding hosts. * Providing race registration. I actually didn't need this but this was a benefit that I didn't appreciate and I think is undersold on the group's website.
Hard to pick just one thing - - just being in the presence of such a profound natural and cultural environment. The Sounds of Silence Celebration dinner brought a lot of the trip experiences together. The marathon course was sensational!
Italy coast to coast was an amazing and unique experience! Do not have anything that can be compared with. I have plans to return next year to this challenging running event.
It was a fantastic way to see Italy while combining the challenge of running through difficult terrain. I appreciated the flexibility however as to take considerations other than running into the daily schedule
I liked that I experienced a part of Italy that was very different than what most people see - it was cool to see small towns that nobody has heard of, and the countryside was beautiful. I liked that it was not a sterile tour that is too structured but that it just felt like a group of friends who had a crazy idea to go on an unconventional road trip.
Grueling but enabling one to see Italy in a way only a runner could!
