Marathon Tours has the unique skill of making everything about the trip work perfectly. Nothing is missed - a beautiful hotel, thoughtful gifts such as the water bottles, tables laid out with food and drink at each excursion...fabulous staff...you guys have these tours to perfection!! Thank you.
The Rio Serrano hotel experience was fantastic! The hotel was well-maintained and in a beautiful setting, I can't praise the staff highly enough for their professionalism and for making people feel comfortable. That includes all the excursion staff.
This trip exceeded my expectations with the beauty of the area, adventurous spirit, amazing accommodations, and amazing MTT staff.
The Patagonia Marathon is among my top three marathons with Boston and Berlin, as no marathon I have experienced rivals the natural beauty of the course and the social interaction with other runners.
Well organized, safe and experienced staff.
The Comrades Marathon is an extremely well organized and challenging event that every runner must experience.
My original plan was to run the Berlin marathon but when I reviewed the proposed itinerary for Scotland decided to extend my stay and add Scotland. This Berlin/Scotland was my first experience with Marathon tours. You did a fantastic job at making me feel comfortable while being in a foreign country. The group size for Scotland was perfect I look forward to future trips and hopefully I get into London 2021 and or Tokyo 2021 to complete my world marathons And after talking to Jeff I may consider the Patagonia and Antarctica trips.
I've always wanted to visit Scotland and when I saw it as an extension to Berlin I jumped on it. I never would have imagined ever doing multiple marathons but now I know I can do it! Runcations are the best : )
I’ve always wanted to go to Scotland, the race was a big draw and Marathon Tours had all the experiences and organization to make sure I would have the trip of a lifetime! A good reputation and years in the business was important especially in light of that other tour company failing and people being stranded. I never worry about your company.
I thought the trip was well planned with scheduled activities and time to explore on your own. I thought the scheduled activities were fantastic and the guides as well. I appreciated the communication by Jeff and Karen as well. I was traveling alone and felt I always knew what to expect and when.
The Scotland trip exceeded my expectations, and I smile every time I think about it.
Hotel in Edinburgh was excellently situated - lots to see and do within walking distance. Rooms were great - clean, moderately spacious, and well-appointed; breakfast was well done in the downstairs dining room. All of the local guides were knowledgeable and entertaining - a terrific way to learn about the history, culture, and people of Scotland. The trip between Edinburgh and Inverness was packed with activities - well worth the time in the coach and the drives between (which were broken up nicely by all the excursions). I know that anyone who comes along to host or help with a MTT trip is going to be super. Jeff and Karen worked tirelessly to make sure that everyone on the trip got the most out of it - food recommendations, music, excellent experiences. Kelly and Kit backed them up and were friendly and welcoming. Like traveling with family (that you like ;).
This (Cape Winelands Tour) was GREAT. Guide was very knowledgeable and other attendees were fun to hang out with.
This is the BEST marathon I have run in overseas. The organization was fantastic. Loved the water bags (though probably not good for the environment. They were great for runners). The crowd support was exceptional. The finish line amazing. I could go on and on. I am so glad that you have put this on the Marathon Tours list. It was also the first marathon I have participated in that had a diverse, inclusive look. Running clubs from around the region--and a real people's marathon. I know that Two Oceans gets alot of press--deservedly so. But The Cape Town marathon competes with it on other grounds--also important to runners.
Seeing fellow runners and reconnecting. It is just nice to be with like-minded people, all keen to do a marathon. We also appreciate the work that is done to get us into a hotel that is near to the start line. Efforts to provide a smooth transition are excellent too. Also love the fact that it is inter-generational. People of all ages are running--very hard to get such a mix with other tours.
WOW!!! The views, the experience and sights were just wonderful! Very glad we went and we just can't say how much we enjoyed the tour.
We enjoy everything, we have been very lucky to be in a group with friendly people and every time we make new friends and meet old friends from previous trips. Excellent and friendly staff. They (Jeff, Thom) were excellent, compassionate and respectful handling an unexpected health problem with a member in the group.
Karen and Jeff (and Kelly and Kit) did a fantastic job moving us around and getting us where we needed to be for events, activities, and the race. The local guides are amazing - they are knowledgeable, engaging, and friendly. The tours are definitely worth going on as many as you can. Basically can't go wrong. I wish we'd been able to do all three, since I wanted to see more of the highlands (obviously, the 26 miles running it wasn't enough!) Thanks again for the poncho - it came in handy at the start of the race with the sideways rain. Love the buff and I use those all the time. Congrats on 40 years!
Anne and Jennifer were amazing. At all times they were looking out for all members of the group and somehow remembered everyone's names and stories so quickly. Please pass on a very big thankyou to both of them, and a special shout out for Jennifer who looked out for me at the end of the marathon when i wasn't feeling very well. Her care and attention was very much appreciated. They were on duty 24/7 but not for a minute did I get a sense of them being 'tired or over' having to respond to everyone's questions and demands. They were enthusiastic, and energizing the whole trip and had very complementary styles and skills. A huge thank you to them both, they were absolutely superb.
Excellent and complimented each other really well. Jennifer's energy is infectious and she sounds like she comes from a really health and well being perspective from her own business. She is very positive and encouraging. Ann is super organised and lets everyone know exactly what is happening. If you have a question I imagine there are not many that Ann could not answer. Ann is a great resource.
