I felt like we were ahead of the tourist curve for Myanmar. I loved the fact that not only did I get to go to an exotic location and run a great marathon, but nobody else I know has been to Myanmar if they even know where that is. Scott was a great host. He was very approachable and friendly.
Everything! The waterfalls, the fun people, getting to see so much of the country in a short period of time, but at the same time not feeling like I didn't actually get a vacation. The Icelandic people are truly some of the nicest I've met in the world! Also the Blue Lagoon is just awesome.
Scott was with us, he was very accommodating and helped make this happen during one of the shopping trips in Beijing and in Xian. As for Marathon Tours guides - Scott was fantastic and on top of things
PS - A big shout out to Jen Ryder...thanks for being my point of contact in the long lead up to race day and answering any questions along the way. Always prompt and friendly, you are amazing!
Can't say enough about Ann and Jane. Really appreciate their hard work. And I noticed after the marathon, they were VERY conscientious about everyone's health and well-being (and some of us needed exactly that).
This was an unforgettable event! Starting with Ann Haebler who not only has the patience but the will power to support participants. She's amazing!
We loved everything about Paris; the people, sites, history, the marathon and the food!
A great experience with many perks & a marathon experience through Marathon Tours & Travels that was better than I expected. Just excellent!
Wonderful staff, hotel booking so close to the race. Marathon Tours took care of all the details, so you were able to have fun and enjoy the run.
I won't hesitate to recommend Marathon Tours to anyone interested in doing Marathons anywhere in the world.
This is my third trip with Marathons Tours. The price is similar to booking it independently with many value-added features. Also, one can rest at ease knowing there are tour leaders to help.
Running the original route and finishing in Olympic Stadium. Epic!
Knowledge base, felt like it wasn't their first time doing this. All staff and tour guides radiated confidence in what to do, when to do it and how to do it.
Overall our experience was very positive. Jen did a great job from start to finish. It is nice to actually go on a trip with the guide that has set it up for you.
I certainly enjoyed the Havana experience, the sights and sounds, the old cars. It was everything I thought it was going to be. The Cuban people were delightful.
Ireland is very special. I loved being there, although it was short. Best - I think the Cliffs; then the Stud farm. Dublin was terrific.
Marathon tours did so much of the work that I was able to basically just go and have a great time. Good mix of planned activities vs free time.
I liked the itinerary, the guides, living in the Hotel Sevilla in Old Havana for a more authentic experience. I was already in love with the place and its people before I went. I really enjoyed the mix of activities eg museums, cigar factory, restaurants etc I liked the variety. I enjoyed both my MT guide (Jacqui Kaufman) and my Cuban guides.
I really enjoyed our hotel in Old Havana, it helped that we were a smaller group of traveller and it made it easier for us to interact and get to know the other people. The Cubian guides that we had did and excellent job and really impacted the quality of the trip.
Great course; great support. Tough from a "conditions" standpoint though - very hot and humid. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested, although I think I would suggest that they just do the half. Since it is a 2-loop course, skipping the second loop would not be that big a deal.
