The race was great. Good choice, and I'm glad you offered a half marathon. It's much easier to do than a full marathon while on a destination trip since the recovery and prep is less, therefore more time to do other things around it - sightseeing, etc.
A great race and location. Extremely well organized and well marked.
Welcome reception to meet other runners was great. Having the package with hotel organized together and the hotel was close to finish line. Transport to start was very much appreciated.
Great communication before the trip. Welcome reception was very nice, wish I could stay longer. The location of the hotel Park Plaza was excellent. The continental breakfast was great in the morning.
We loved the hotel choice, a landmark for London. Also it was great to meet Marathons Tours staff in person and all the other runners at the dinner (food was great!). It makes all the difference to have someone else take care for you to get to the start line in time.
The race experience was exceptional. Marathon Tours was organized. The people I met were awesome and made me feel at home.
The Comrades Marathon is a very special race in a beautiful part of South Africa. I also really enjoyed the Kruger extension. Seeing wildlife in their natural habitat is a once in a lifetime experience.
I felt like an adult at camp! It was so much fun -- camaraderie, support, meeting new friends --- and the fabulous wildlife and beautiful scenery!! And a great marathon!!!
The marathon and course as well as game drives. Physically the toughest marathon I have completed so the challenge it provided was another bonus to the experience.
BeinIt was literally the best experience of my life. It was my first marathon, my first time to Greece and at the last minute, I had to travel alone. However, everything was so well organized and everyone was so down to earth and supportive, I felt right at home amongst family. My utmost thanks and respect to everyone who made this trip so magical!g kept abreast of what was happening, where we were going and things that were about to take place
All pre-race emails and questions were answered thoroughly by Jen. Our hosts, Jen and Jane did a great job as our Marathon Tours reps in Greece. They were both very knowledgeable about Greece and we really enjoyed their company on our tours. It was great to meet the other athletes and return home with new friends! Thank you Marathon Tours for organizing another great event.
The beaches were beautiful and a new city to explore is always fun (especially with the buzz from the World Cup); however the most enjoyable part of the trip was meeting new people and making some strong friendships amongst the marathon group.
The opportunity to meet and interact with like-minded runners. I also appreciated the fact I didn't need to worry about race day logistics.
This trip was an amazing transformative experience.
Thank you so much for the arrival brunch! The brunch allowed me to meet some of the other folks that were on the tour and allowed me to feel comfortable with my surroundings right away. The hotel location could not have been better. The Plaza is right in the middle of all the action, and with Culture Night after the race, it allowed for easy to and from all the partying and my room. The tours themselves were breathtaking!! In all honesty, I usually find tour leaders to be boring so I usually don't pay attention, BUT our Iceland tour leaders were the BEST! Having knowledge of their area and culture is always important, being able to present the information enthusiastically, with humor, all while being very inviting to questions and small talk is just good 'ol talent. The places we toured were made even more beautiful and I felt a greater appreciation for the scenery because we were given such good background material from our tour leaders
There was never a time that I felt any negativity about my trip to Iceland. This is due to 2 major factors that Marathon Tours does for the customer. First, they are very knowledgeable of not only their schedule, but also Reykjavik's other scheduled excursions, flights, events. I pretty much had to do no planning except to say what I wanted to do, and options were laid out to me. Second, their lightning quick response to any questions or concerns I had gave me no time to worry about other thoughts except knowing that the trip would be an absolutely amazing time!
Wonderful, crazy, and the most fun I have ever had running a marathon...or any race for that matter!
Unique, raucous, delightful run, greatly aided by smooth MT transfer services; enjoyed good breadth of chateau tours.
I've run harder and more scenic races, but none that had as much wonderful camaraderie among the runners.
Just wanted to thank you for all your help. My girlfriend and I both had a great time in Chicago, and enjoyed the race. We both ran the race and qualified for Boston with our times. Is it possible to arrange a package through Marathon Tours for the Boston Marathon 2015.
