The topic of the “new longevity” has intrigued me, as I have always pushed my own boundaries of what is possible as I’ve aged. It led me to write a book last year called ROAR—an acronym for the four-step process to “Reimagine, Own Who You Are, Act on Your Plan, and Reassess Your Relationships” into the second half of your life. My own reimagining started at 39, when I had the epiphany that all I was doing was working. My identity was tied up in what I did for a living versus who I was as a person. I had decided at the beginning of the year that I wanted to run Dublin because I had never been to Ireland and thought it would be a great way to start my journey to the Seven Continents Club. While trying to register, I discovered that I had to book through Marathon Tours and recognized the name from my work with Back on My Feet Boston (Marathon Tours is a sponsor). I also figured that if I wanted to get more adventurous with my running, it would be beneficial to work with a company who could make that experience as amazing as possible, and I was not wrong.
I love meeting fellow runners from the Marathon Tours group, great camaraderie, great stories,
great fun! Insights on the course, start area, recognition of Seven Continents Club and AbbottWMM Six Star finisihers,
you truly feel like a community when you travel with Marathon Tours!
