I loved the whole trip. I never would have thought to go the Easter Island if Marathon Tours had not offered the trip and I am very glad I did. My favorite part of the trip was the whole day tour on Easter Island, the Moai were amazing.
I loved the peace and spiritual aspect of Easter Island. So remote, beautiful and quiet. I appreciated Jacqui's ability to make each and every person feel very special and customize the experience. She is a great guide, and has a wonderful sense of reading people that is indispensable.
Everything on this trip was excellent!! The guides at each location were very informative as well as personable. I loved Jacqui, I can not say enough good things about her!!!
Easter Island is a special place. The Marathon was challenging, but a lot of fun.
Easter Island - fabulous place, great 'island' feel. It more than surpassed my already high expectations.
I did have a wonderful trip to Easter Island. Such a fascinating island. Meeting new and interesting people who share the joy of running is always fun, too. Jacqui was just a fabulous Marathon Tours representative, trip organizer and advisor, person to talk with and turn to, just a great person to meet and get to know a little.
And, let me know if Madagascar is ever offered.
The balance between activities and "down time." It made the experience relaxing yet I learned a lot about the island's history and culture.
Exotic, remote location, unique race course, interesting local people and wonderful food. We also loved meeting other runners on this trip - it was a terrific bunch!
No matter how great the scenery, food etc is, it always boils down to the people that one meets on the trip that makes it or breaks it. The people, all of them, is what I liked the best although it was such a thrill to cross the finish line. One does not so much connect with a statue or a blue water but the person that is there to embrace all of the above with you- now that is the BEST.
I liked getting to explore the island...it was more like being an explorer than a tourist, and it was nice that we practically had the place to ourselves since it was their winter.
The destination, of course, was fabulous, but the best part was the fact that there were only 30 of us the trip. A group that is only 20-30 for two weeks is a nice size so that you can meet people and start to get to know them enough to see if you would like to go on other trips or do other things with them in the future.
Discovering Easter Island. It was more beautiful and interesting than I expected.
