Marathon Course: Introduced in 2001, the inaugural Sydney Marathon followed the same course as the marathon during the 2000 Summer Olympics the previous year. The 2024 marathon course will incorporate changes to enhance the experience to make it "a faster, more scenic and spectator friendly course". The Sydney Marathon course is AIMS Certified accurate course.

Awards: Marathoners who finish their running event within the time limit will receive a commemorative medal and also receive a finishers t-shirt.
Weather: September is the beginning of the spring season in Sydney. Daytime temperatures will range from 60°F - 68°F (16°C - 20°C). You will want to be prepared for some potential chilly westerly winds and chance of rain.
