We visited the Vatican through the Roman Guy. Highly recommend. We were picked up from our hotel and brought directly to the meet-up location. Got into the Vatican promptly at 8 am. Our tour guide was friendly and extremely knowledgeable.

I liked the location - within walking distance to historical sites, and the start and finish line of the marathon. The area reminded me of some movies that I have seen that showcased Rome - felt like I was in a movie.

Great Hotel! The hotel staff at the reception desk were friendly, and answered questions that I presented. Equally friendly were the restaurant personnel, room cleaning personnel, and concierge's. I was so impressed with the hotel that I have made a bookmark of Starhotel Metropole Rome so that if I ever return to Rome, which I will, I will seek to make my reservations there.

The travel package is so well thought out that there is so little to stress about, everything is done and in place for you. The transportation to the expo and race start is a huge incentive, I think that is what I like best.

I always enjoy the events where it brings the group together for socializing. There are so many great people that go on these tours and their stories are incredible and inspiring. Nice touch with the Marathon Tours shirts for the athletes.

This was so well organized from the emails we started to receive well before the trip to the outstanding hospitality provided at the hotel and at the social events. I can't say enough wonderful things about Jacqui. She truly made this trip special, especially being a first time traveler with Marathon Tours. Her knowledge of the destination, organization skills, and hostess warmth are like no other. I want to participate on every tour she manages!

Snaefellsnes extension tour: it had two things I really was pumped about - the Viking Sushi tour (i love that kind of fishing experience stuff) and the Shark Museum (I recently just published a book about sharks and was dying to try hakarl that was in the book and frequently mentioned on my show.) Also Stykkisholmur was just a great local town, a lot less touristy and a lot more character. The public pool there is super underrated and it's such a treasure!!!

So many things to list. Weather was a total blessing - nothing like 5 days of sunshine and blue skies with 60-degree weather. Planning was superb - never had to worry about where to be. This made the more nervous members of my travel party feel less anxious. The race course was beautifully laid out, easy to follow. Iceland itself was positively wonderful - the scenery, the stops on the tours, the people we meet, the ease of the experience - so laid back. There honestly isn't a single thing I didn't like.
